Here is a custom 20 inch doll and chair bundle from my collection. The doll is a 1940's Ideal Baby with magic skin. It has green sleep eyes that close when you lay the doll down. It has tin lids and nice life-like lashes. The body is stuffed latex with jointed legs and arms. The fingers are seperate and this feels like a chubby baby's skin. The mouth is open where 2 teeth are showing and a red felt tongue is in the mouth. For the 1940's, this was probably as real as it got to a baby.
The clothes are original. They are matching blue bonnet, onesie and booties made of fleece. The ribbon is new (from the 1990's) on the bonnet.
Head is hard plastic. It has some age related cracks (see pics) but no breaks of any kind.
Sculpted/molded hair has some of rubs/coloring gone, but head is in good condition with no breaks. There is a minor chip near the upper left eye. The magic skin has darkened which is very common to these dolls.
This comes with a unique wood (I'm pretty sure it is oak) rocking chair that has bunny and lamb sticker seemlessly embossed on the chair. It fits the doll perfectly. There are some minor nicks and scratches on the chair.
I got both of these items (seperately) from an antique store in the early 1990's. I saved the index card that listed the features of this doll and pinned it back on the doll. It has been in my bedroom or my child's bedroom for many years. I am in a smoke-free home.
