    Description

    Organized in 1946 from the 2nd Bn, 185th Infantry, this regiment was assigned to the 40th Infantry Division when the 40th was split into the 40th and 49th Divisions. Based in Los Angeles, the 223rd served with the 40th Division in the Korean War in 1952-53. This is an unofficial insignia, the "7" in the shield indicating descent from the 7th California Infantry Bn in 1886. P&H 3.95 for up to 3-4 insignia, depending on weight.
