    Description

"Hold That Gator #2" Bronze Indian sculpture created by Brad Cooley in 1990. Ltd Ed #8/200.
This sculpture is PERFECT for any FSU fan!!! It depicts a Seminole Indian (Florida State University mascot) subduing an alligator (University of Florida mascot).
The signature of the artist, the date, and the Limited Edition number is inscribed on the leg of the Indian. The sculpture is mounted on a nice looking oval wood base. On the base is attached a brass plaque stating title of piece and artist's name. Brad Cooley also personally signed his name on the underside of the base.
I purchased this sculpture new many years ago and it has been carefully and proudly displayed behind glass in our pet-free and smoke-free home ever since. It is in EXCELLENT CONDITION!! No blemishes.
    Measurements including base: (H 7 in. X L 7 in. X W 4 in.)
    Weight: 4.5 ibs.
A short history of Brad Cooley (now deceased):
In the mid 1980s Bradley Sr. and his wife Linda were visiting in South Florida where they took some of Bradley's wildlife sculptures to display at a Seminole Indian event. There he met James Billie, the longtime Seminole chief----who commissioned Cooley on the spot to do a statue for a Seminole reservation.
Since that first statue, Cooley and his son, also named Bradley, have produced at least 40 life-size bronze sculptures for the Seminole Tribe. Though many of their sculptures are on Seminole reservations in South Florida, two of the pair's most celebrated Native American statuaries are in Tallahassee.
